Dr. Jenifer L. Henderson, MD, graduated Summa Cum Laude from the School of Medicine at the University of Southern California in 1992. During medical school, she was the recipient of multiple awards for academic excellence, including Medical School Honors, Dean’s Recognition, and early induction into Alpha Omega Alpha, the most prestigious medical honor society. She also received the American Medical Women's Association Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation for graduating in the top ten percent of her class.

Upon graduating from medical school, Dr. Henderson completed a general surgery internship at Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California, where she was named Surgical Intern of the Year. In addition, she received the Mercy Hospital Trauma Award for the Most Outstanding Intern.

After a one-year overseas tour as a General Medical Officer supporting the United States Marine Corps in southeast Asia, Dr. Henderson returned to Naval Medical Center San Diego, where she completed a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. She subsequently served a two-year tour as a staff head and neck surgeon at Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan, during which she also completed certification by the American Board of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. She was then selected for advanced fellowship training in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery under the guidance of Dr. Wayne F. Larrabee, Jr. MD.  Dr. Henderson completed her fellowship training in 2001.
 
Following her fellowship training, Dr. Henderson completed board certification by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, earning the highest scores in the nation on both written and oral components of the examination. For this academic achievement, Dr. Henderson was granted the Jack Anderson Award for Excellence in 2001.

Dr. Henderson co-authored a reference surgical textbook entitled Surgical Anatomy of the Face and writes numerous professional articles published in national medical journals. In addition, Dr. Henderson is frequently sought after for presentations and professional lectures on leading edge topics of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Henderson was selected by her peers to serve as an examination writer, as well as a guest oral board examiner for the board certification examination sponsored by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She also served as a guest board examiner for the certification examination sponsored by the American Board of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery.

Dr. Henderson specializes in traditional facial plastic surgery procedures, such as rhinoplasty, facelift, eyelid surgery, brow lifting, chin implantation, ear surgery, laser skin resurfacing and many others. In addition, she has advance training and significant experience in LipoStructure®. LipoStructure® involves a permanent fat transplantation that is utilized to restore facial fullness frequently lost to aging. In addition to the aforementioned surgical procedures, Dr. Henderson is an authority on the non-surgical treatment of facial aesthetics, including injection therapy with Botox®, Restylane® and multiple other facial rejuvenation therapies.
