Browlift and Forehead Lift
This procedure elevates the position of the brows and forehead to reveal a youthful and elegant appearance. It smoothes the forehead, opens the eyes and helps decrease brow heaviness.
Are you a candidate?
- If your eyebrow position has lowered and gives the appearance of excess upper eyelid skin
- If you would like to have a more open eye look
- If you desire a more youthful expression by smoothing the forehead
Procedure Description
A variety of techniques are available and a consultation is necessary to determine which is the most appropriate. At this time, the majority of forehead lifts performed in our center use a minimally invasive surgical technique known as the endoscopic forehead lift. The procedure involves making several small and extremely well concealed incisions behind the hairline. A lighted scope is placed through the incisions and the forehead is gently elevated by releasing deep attachments at the brow.
Recovery
- The dressing may be removed the day after surgery
- Sutures and/or surgical staples are removed 7 to 10 days after surgery
- The amount of bruising and swelling varies, but typically most patients are able to resume normal activities in two weeks
- Varying degrees of forehead numbness can occur. This can last a few weeks to a few months
- Make-up can be worn, except over incisions, in 7 to 10 days
