LARRABEE CENTER: Seattle and Bellevue Nose Reshaping (Rhinoplasty)

Nose Reshaping (Rhinoplasty)

Rhinoplasty requires the highest sense of artistry to create a natural-looking nose to enhance facial harmony. The goal of rhinoplasty is to draw attention away from the nose and redirect attention to the eyes, the most important facial feature. While dealing with form it is also important to consider functionality; the end result should be aesthetically pleasing without compromising breathing.

The nose is a complex structure of interconnecting segments of cartilage and bone. It is imperative the patient and surgeon work together to understand the desired result and reach a precise plan.

Are you a candidate?

  • If you desire to improve the appearance of your nose
  • If you desire to improve nasal breathing
  • If you have had previous nasal surgery and are dissatisfied with the outcome
  • If you feel your facial harmony is out of balance due to the appearance of your nose

Recovery

  • Following surgery your nose will be stuffy
  • You will experience variable degrees of swelling and bruising for the first 7-10 days
  • Most patients can return to work and social events after 7-10 days with make up as needed
  • Eyeglasses, which put pressure on the nose, should be avoided for four to six weeks after surgery
  • Nasal swelling continues to decrease for six to twenty-four months following surgery

Ancillary Procedures

  • Augmentation mentoplasty (chin implant). Some patients may require augmentation of their chin in order to achieve a balanced appearance to their nose. This procedure may be discussed with you at the time of your rhinoplasty consultation.
