Your Surgical Experience
At the Larrabee Center, safety and comfort during your surgical experience is our top priority. From beginning to end, rest assured that you are in the hands of the most caring and talented staff available.
Your journey begins with a consultation appointment with one of our physicians.
When you arrive at the Center and check in with the front desk, you will be asked to fill out a medical history questionnaire and patient registration forms. Once your paperwork is complete, you will be guided to one of our private rooms to meet with our Patient Care Coordinator. She will inquire about your goals for facial rejuvenation and familiarize you with our practice. You will then meet with Dr. Larrabee or Dr. Henderson who will review your medical history, discuss your aesthetic goals and perform a detailed examination of your face and neck. After careful consideration of your goals and desires, we will recommend the appropriate procedures to help you achieve the look you desire.
You will meet next with our Clinical Nurse Manager to review our surgical recommendations and make sure all of your questions have been answered. She will also provide you with an estimate of fees and answer any financial questions you may have. Our nurse is also able to discuss with you our scheduling process.
Pre-operative
Pre-operative instructions will be given to you at the time of your pre-op appointment. This appointment is typically scheduled three weeks prior to your surgery. During the visit, our nurses will review pre and post-operative instructions. This meeting usually lasts 45 minutes, and during the visit you will also meet with your surgeon for a more comprehensive overview of your surgery and a detailed consent will be provided about the risks of the operation. You will also receive prescriptions for the operation and schedule postoperative visits. Finally, you will meet with our practice administrator to discuss any surgical fees owed.
Operative
When you arrive on the day of your surgery, our peri-operative nurses will have you change into a surgical gown and spa robe. Our anesthesiologist will meet with you, review your medical history and discuss your anesthetic options. You will then be escorted by our operating room staff to our private operating room. Safety, privacy, comfort and attention to detail are our primary concerns during your surgery.
Once your surgery is completed, you will be taken to our recovery bay and be cared for by our post-operative nurses. You will be in recovery for approximately one to two hours after surgery, and discharged after you are fully recovered. A caretaker must be with you for the first twenty four hours after surgery. The night of surgery, your surgeon will call your caregiver to check on your status.
Post Operative
You may have a brief postoperative check following the day after surgery. The timing for the next visit depends on the type of surgery performed - typically you are seen seven to ten days after surgery, then after one month, three months and six months.
