Your Surgical Experience
At the Larrabee Center, safety and comfort during your surgical experience is our top priority. From beginning to end, rest assured that you are in the hands of the most caring and talented staff available.
Your journey begins with a consultation appointment with Dr. Larrabee.
When you arrive at the Center and check in with the front desk, you will be asked to fill out a medical history questionnaire and patient registration forms, if you have not already done so. You will first meet with our Patient Care Coordinator, who will review your goals for facial rejuvenation and familiarize you with our practice. You will then consult with Dr. Larrabee, who will review your medical history, discuss your aesthetic goals and perform a detailed examination of your face and neck. After careful consideration of your goals and desires, he will recommend the appropriate procedure(s) to help you achieve the look you desire.
Our Clinical Nurse Manager will review the surgical recommendations and make sure all of your questions have been answered. She will also provide you with an estimate of fees and answer any financial questions you may have. If so desired, our nurse is also available to discuss our scheduling process.
Pre-operative
This appointment is typically scheduled three weeks prior to your surgery. During your appointment, our Clinical Nurse Manager will review pre and post-operative instructions. She will provide a comprehensive overview of your surgery along with a detailed consent outlining the risks. You will also receive prescriptions, have photos taken and schedule your post-operative visits. Finally, you will meet with our practice administrator to discuss any surgical fees due.
Operative
On the day of your surgery , you will meet with Dr. Larrabee, the anesthesiologist and our operative nurses. Once you have reviewed the details of your surgery with Dr. Larrabee, you will meet with the anesthesiologist, who will review your medical history and discuss your anesthetic options. You will then be escorted by our operating room staff to our private operating room. Safety, privacy, comfort and attention to detail are our primary concerns during your surgery.
Once your surgery is completed, you will be taken to our recovery room and be cared for by our post-operative nurses. You will be in recovery for approximately one to two hours after surgery. A caretaker must escort you home and stay with you for the first twenty- four hours after surgery. The night of surgery, Dr. Larrabee will call your caregiver to check on your status.
Post Operative
You may have a brief post-operative check following the day after surgery. The timing for the next visit depends on the type of surgery performed.
