IPL PhotoFacial Skin Care Treatments Near Seattle and Kirkland

Our aesthetic center has been offering IPL since its arrival to the aesthetic market in 1998. We were thrilled to include Sciton’s BBL Forever Young Treatments to our menu of services, enhancing the portfolio of non-surgical procedures we offer our patients.

The BBL’s innovative technology sets the standards for the treatment of skin conditions associated with aging, active lifestyles, and sun damage — including fine wrinkles, age and sunspots, small facial veins, and several other blemishes.

We always tailor our treatments to match our patients’ skin type and the goals they wish to achieve. IPL/ BBL treatments are non-invasive procedures with little to no downtime. Unlike other nonsurgical facial rejuvenation procedures, IPL/BBL/Photo Rejuvenation does not use any harsh chemicals to achieve the desired results.

There are a variety of things that cause unwelcome pigmentation or redness in the skin, but the good news is that many of them are effectively treatable with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy, including:

  • Broken capillaries
  • Light acne scars
  • Hyper-pigmentation caused by years spent in the sun
  • Chronic diffused redness caused by rosacea
  • Irregular pigmentation caused by photodamaged skin
  • Hyper-pigmentation is a result of the aging process

Candidates for IPL/BBL/FotoFacial are individuals who desire improvement in overall skin discoloration (reds and browns), fine lines, and blemishes on the face, neck, chest, and hands. This includes sun-damaged skin, aging skin, oily skin, and skin with enlarged pores.

" Dr. Larrabee and the staff in his office are incredibly kind and capable. Communication was great - I felt safe and well-informed throughout the process. I am now a little over a year out from my surgery and couldn't be happier with my results. Would highly recommend to others. "

How Does It Work?

IPL therapy improves the superficial outer layer of the skin—and, for that matter, the deeper layers of the skin as well—by normalizing the tissue in the epidermis. It also stimulates the formation of new collagen in your body, thereby significantly reducing the appearance of fine lines, shrinking pore size, and increasing the elasticity of the skin (collagen is your skin’s natural wonder drug in this regard).

During treatment, the IPL leaves healthy skin unharmed but is absorbed by the darker, damaged tissue. The pigmentation is gradually brought to the surface of the skin, where it flakes off over a period of the subsequent couple of weeks following treatment.

At the Larrabee Center, we typically recommend a series of five treatments for optimal results with most skin types.

IPL Photofacial involves a non-ablative laser, specially designed to seek out darker pigments in the skin, including redness, discolored spots, and dark acne scars. The procedure itself involves a mild snapping sensation—and with each snap, the intense pulsed light is going deep into the skin, eliminating the problem at the source. The color and texture of your skin will continue to get better and better for weeks after your treatment.

Each treatment session will last less than an hour, and afterward, you’ll be free and clear to go straight back to your daily schedule without much, if any, downtime. For these reasons, many people choose to schedule IPL treatments at the Larrabee Center during their lunch hour.
