What is Ultherapy®?
Dr. Wayne Larrabee describes Ultherapy® as an FDA-cleared, non-invasive procedure for lifting and toning the skin on the face, neck, and chest. With Ultherapy®, there’s no anesthesia, no scarring, and no downtime, making it perfect for our patients who want to turn back the hands of time without having to undergo surgical procedures. The treatment uses ultrasound energy to stimulate the production of new collagen deep within the skin. Ultherapy® jumpstarts collagen production, resulting in lifted, toned skin with improved texture and wrinkles that are less visible.
How does Ultherapy® work?
The Ultherapy® procedure uses ultrasound energy to heat the deep layers of tissue in the skin, stimulating collagen production. The ultrasound images allow the provider to see precisely where to direct the energy for maximum benefit.
What happens during the Ultherapy® treatment?
During the procedure, you will feel brief pulses of heat as the ultrasound energy is delivered below the skin’s surface. The Ultherapy® treatment takes about 60 minutes, and you can return to your normal activities immediately afterward with no downtime. The changes will occur with time and can be continually improved with future appointments. Some patients will have Ultherapy® done regularly to maintain their youthful appearance and slow the gradual process of aging.
What results can I expect from Ultherapy®?
Collagen production continues for several months after Ultherapy®, so you will see a gradual improvement in lifted, toned skin over time. Most patients see optimal results at three to six months post-treatment.
